
ABOUT COREY CHRISTY
Hello, I'm Corey Christy

MY BACKGROUND
Corey Christy, who grew up in Biloxi, returned to his hometown in 2013 after college to pursue his passion for grassroots community engagement. Since then, he has actively contributed to his city through volunteer roles, board memberships, and involvement with local organizations.
Corey is the past president of Biloxi Main Street, where he has served as a board member for the past eight years. During this time, he has made a significant impact on the organization and the city. He founded the Biloxi Public Art Project, which has brought 30 pieces of public art to life downtown, each telling unique stories of local history.
His dedication has earned him numerous awards, including two Fire Soul Awards, the Design Award, the Visionary Award, the City of Biloxi’s Volunteer of the Year for Arts and Culture, the Mississippi Main Street Award for the Biloxi Public Art Project, a Governor’s Initiative for Volunteer Excellence in 2021, and the Mississippi Main Street Trailblazer Award in 2022.
Corey has also served on the boards of the Biloxi Bay Area Chamber of Commerce (three years), the Gallery 782 co-op, and the Mississippi Coastal Plain Land Trust (one year). Additionally, he helps organize Bike Biloxi and occasionally leads weekly community bike rides across the city.
Currently, Corey works as the sales manager for Fly Llama Brewing. He lives in the West Howard/Seal Street neighborhood with his wife, their 19-month-old son, and twin 16-year-old boys. Corey holds a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Southern Mississippi and has attended
